Frequently Asked Questions

Below please find answers to the most common questions asked about the holiday home.  If you book directly with us, you will be asked to kindly sign a booking form, complete with the most recent and updated terms and conditions. In case of conflict with the information below, the booking agreement terms and conditions prevail. 

Where is your property located?

We are situated in Santa Lucija, the smallest village on the island of Gozo. It takes 5 minutes by car to reach Santa Lucija from Victoria, the capital and main town of Gozo.

You can also reach us by bus. Route 313 goes from Victoria to Santa Lucija, to Kercem and back to Victoria every hour, from 5:00am to around 9:30pm. Stop at bus stop called Santa Lucija, and you are less than 1 minute away from us.

Are there any facilities close by?

The closest supermarkets and pharmacies are situated in Kercem, less than 5 minutes by car from us. More info here.

If you are coming from abroad, we will prepare a small welcome pack for you.  This consists of bread, butter, ham, cheese, a bottle of water as well as tea, coffee, sugar and milk. We might also throw in a bottle of wine, as a small gesture of appreciation for choosing to stay at us!

What type of home is your property?

We want to believe it’s a lovely holiday home where to relax for a few days, or more! We can take up to 6 persons.

NarcisOne is spread over 2 floors, and has the following:

  • 3 bedrooms, one with en suite bathroom.
  • 2 additional bathrooms. One of the bathrooms has a bath, with the other 2 having a shower
  • Fully equipped and spacious kitchen (oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle and dishwasher) in open plan with a living room and sitting room
  • Swimming Pool with deck and BBQ area
  • Access to roof for panoramic views of Gozo
  • Washing machine room

What amenities are included?

At no extra charge, we include the following:

  • Electricity and water consumption
  • Gas supply for hob
  • Fibre-powered Broadband Internet wi-fi
  • Smart TV with Netflix
  • Airconditioning in all bedrooms
  • 1 dishwasher tablet for every night of stay
  • 1 washing machine tablet for every 2 nights of stay
  • Pool cleaning before your visit
  • Cleaning up after you leave. If you leave the house very dirty or in complete disorder, we retain the right to charge extra.

What do you include in the various rooms?

We do our best to give you all the required amenities during your stay. If you need any additional items, please let us know and we will advise if we can help.

Bedrooms: Airconditioning, spacious wardrobe, bed linen, duvet and 2 pillows per person.

Bathrooms: 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, toilet paper rolls, hand soap, shampoo, hair conditioner and shower gel

Kitchen: oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, kettle, utensils, cutlery and crockery.  Coffee, tea and sugar are in cupboards.

Living Room: Interactive TV service, including on demand movies and wifi internet

Pool: Deckchairs and 1 pool towel

Washing Machine room: washing machine, iron, ironing board

Hair Dryer

Important Note: The electrical supply in Malta is 230 volts +/- 10%. The frequency of the supply is 50 hertz. The three-pin rectangular plug system is used, as in Britain.

Do you provide maid services?

We will prepare the house for you prior to your visit. In addition to general cleanliness, we will also prepare all beds with bed linen, and an extra blanket, stored in bedroom.

Each person be provided with 2 towels.

If you would like maid service during your stay, we will charge extra if your stay is less than 7 days. You would need to inform us at least 2 weeks prior to your visit should you need such additional service.

For stays longer than 7 days, we will provide maid service generally once a week, but please ask us for details.

Is NarcisOne wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, currently it is not.

I would like to add more people to the booking. Is it possible?

Yes – as long as there is capacity. We suggest that you always enter the correct amount of guests in your booking, since this will ensure that we will custom your stay accordingly.  In order to manage the property better, we will only make available bedrooms according to the number of persons booked and lock the rest of the bedrooms, and therefore it is important that we have the correct number of guests.

Generally, the rate we charge is per person, and therefore we would need to charge extra for additional guests.  During high season or specific times of the year - for example during July and August – we usually charge a rate that provides for maximum occupancy. In this case, please let us know of the additional guests just the same, but we will not charge extra.

Finally, the maximum number of guests that can stay at NarcisOne is limited to the number of persons you specified at booking.

What are your check-in and check-out times?

Out standard check-in time is between 1400 and 1800 and check out is between 0800 and 1100. If possible, we will obviously seek to accommodate requests out of these time brackets, but it depends on a case by case basis.

Please let us know your expected check-in and check-out time after you book.

Do I have to book for my baby as well?

We love kids, so no, anyone under the age of 2 sleeps free. It is important that you let us know if babies are going to join in the holiday. Please leave a comment or send us an email.

Also, please let us know at least 2 weeks prior to your visit if you need a cot and a highchair for your baby, such that we will make them available. We will not charge anything for the first cot or highchair but would have to ask for a fee if you need more than one cot or one highchair.

If there are any specific requirements (e.g. you need a stair-gate installed, or want us to buy nappies or other baby items for you), let us know.  If we need to buy anything for you, we will charge you at cost, and present you with a receipt as proof of purchase.

Is the place child-friendly?

Although we do our best to keep the place as child-friendly s possible we cannot guarantee that it is completely safe. Children MUST be accompanied and under the supervision of an adult at all times.  This applies to within the house, and also to pool area, balconies etc.

Can I bring my pet there?

Out of respect to future guests we cannot accept pets in our property, unless for special circumstances.

Can I smoke within the house?

No. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside. You may only smoke outside, for example next to pool, or in balcony.

Can I have a party at your place?

No. Only the agreed number of persons at booking can be within the property at any time.  Also, NarcisOne is situated in a residential area and no loud music is allowed inside or next to pool – please respect the peace and quiet of the neighbourhood.

The property is not suitable for any sort of parties or activities similar to parties, including hens or bachelor parties.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

We may ask for a deposit on check-in. The exact amount will be communicated to you on booking.  We will refund you any deposit amount within 2 days of check-out date, less any deductions. We will deduct amounts for:

  • Damage to property
  • Breakage of items

Security deposit may be paid cash or via a Revolut or BOV Pay transfer.

What is your cancellation policy?

The below cancellation policy currently applies:

  • If the cancellation occurs 90 days prior to check-in date, no cancellation fees apply, and the deposit will be refunded in full;
  • If the cancellation occurs between day 60 and day 30 prior to check-in date, 50% of the total amount paid will be charged;
  • If the cancellation occurs within 30 days prior to check-in date, 100% of the total invoice amount is due to NarċisOne;
  • In all other cases of non-arrival (non-show) or early departure, you will be requested to pay the amount due in full as per Invoice/Agreement and no refund is due;
  • Likewise, no refund of the lease rate is made if the holiday property is not used owing to false or unclear information of the personal data on the reservation form.

If due to adverse weather conditions, technical problems with transport, governmental action or other similar major issues, unfortunately, we cannot offer an automatic cancellation, but we will do our best to find a mutually acceptable solution. Generally, we will offer you the option to choose other booking dates, at the rates applicable for the new dates.

Is there anything extra that I need to pay?

The only additional payment is a government eco tax. This tax is paid by all guests in all accommodations in Malta and Gozo, and consists of a €0.50c per person over 18 years of age for each night of stay.  There is a capping of €5 per person for each continuous stay.

This eco tax is paid in cash only and collected by us at check-in.

Do I need to take a travel insurance?

We strongly recommend you take a travel insurance prior to travelling to Malta.  Although generally Gozo is a very safe place to stay, it never hurts to insure against injury, theft or delays or cancellations to your flight.

If you are coming from an EU country, we recommend you bring your European Health ID Card with you.

Do you have a general behaviour policy?

We hate to have to write this since pretty much all of our guests are great, but unfortunately have to cater for the exceptional and odd guest out:

We expect all guests to respect and be considerate to all other guests and to the neighbours. No disturbance or nuisance behaviour is allowed or tolerated.

The person who placed the booking is responsible to ensure good behaviour throughout. S/he is also responsible for any damages caused by any member of the party. If any such damage occurs, please let us know immediately and we will advice on any costs that need to be paid in relation to this damage.  These costs would need to be paid prior to check-out date. 

If you think that at any time, the property might be incurring damage due to rain, wind or third-party action, please notify us immediately such that we can take immediate action to secure the place.

If we receive reports disturbance, or any complaints, or if the police are for any reason called to the place, or if any guest behaves in a way such as to cause or be likely to cause danger, upset or distress to any third party or damage to the property we are entitled, without prior notice, to ask this guest, or the whole party to leave the property and terminate the stay.  In such situation we will not be responsible for any expenses or other matters in relation the this guest or the whole party, and will not make any refunds pay any expenses or costs incurred as a result of the termination.
